Aboriginal
Field Recordings Arnhem Land Popular Classics |
Excellent
1961 field recordings of traditional Aboriginal singing,
clapsticks and didgeridoo. A perfect CD to experience
the sound of tribal music from the heart of the outback
country where the didgeridoo is still used in ceremony.
You will hear Australian Aboriginal elders from the
Beswick Government Settlement in the Northern Territory
and surrounds. A booklet that comes with the CD describes
the story of the songs and includes a map of Arnhem
Land pinpointing where the recordings were made. Digitally
mastered for maximum sound quality. Highly recommended. |

Ash
Dargan Ash, Dust & Dirt |
This is one of our very best selling CDs,
and it showcases Ash's amazing didgeridoo playing abilities solo style. No keyboards, no drums, no voices... just pure didgeridoo! Ash
Dargan has recorded over 20 CDs and has been involved
in many other world music recordings over the past ten years. We love this CD for everything from the rich mastering to the fact that Ash was seriously "on" while recording in the studio for this project. Have a listen to the sound mix we created and hear it for yourself. |

Jeremy Donovan Walking with Spirit |
In Jeremy's own words, "Walking with Spirit is a CD inspired by the intimate relationship I had with my grandfather. This CD will give people the chance to journey deep into the Dreamtime, the realms where all our ancestors and great spirit guides watch down from. While recording this album I called upon all my spirit guides to help me create a CD that would support people on their own journey." The first track features several instruments along with didge, but the rest of the CD is purely solo didgeridoo with a relaxing, meditative quality that anyone would enjoy. |

Jeremy
Donovan Yalanji |
Jeremy
Donovan embraces his Aboriginal descendance through
painting, storytelling, and performing with the didgeridoo.
"Yalanji" is his very popular CD, and he plays
straight from the heart with rhythms that sound more
like personal mantras than glitz. The ancient sound
of the Australian bush provides a natural background
for the Yigi Yigi (didgeridoo) as Jeremy stirs it up
beat by beat. The first track opens with the haunting
drone of a bullroarer, didgeridoo and distant tribal
chants, setting a perfect tone for the whole CD (you
can hear it in the sound file below). And when you visit
Australia, see Jeremy perform live at the Outback Centre
in Sydney's Darling Harbor! |

Kristian
Benton Yidaki Vibes |
Kristian's
hand crafted didgeridoos can be found on this site,
so you may already be familiar with his name. And just
like his didgeridoos, each track on this CD has something
new to offer... a change in tone color, for example,
or an unexpected rhythm that makes you want to get up
and dance. Kristian grew up in the town of Orange, which
is located in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. This
is Wiradjuri country, where he's a descendant of the
Ngambar mob at Brewarrina. He now lives in northern
New South Wales with his wife and new daughter. Kristian
expresses himself culturally through Aboriginal art
and making/playing didgeridoos. We think you'll enjoy
his first CD. |
